We are happy to introduce you to Alexa de la Cruz, mom, jewelry designer and inspiration, we love her aesthetics, her "less is more" way of living and jewelry line. Alexa's timeless, minimalistic and sculptural designs are the result of combining antique Mexican silversmith techniques with the most avant-garde design, heirlooms to keep and love forever.
Where did you grow up? Do you think that place made any impact in your personality?
I grew up surrounded by nature and I do think it is part of why I have always had a strong connection with it. We also travelled as a family much, getting to know the world as a child is beautiful
Who did you admire growing up?
My grandfather has and will always be my biggest inspiration. I remember being a little girl, thinking how much I would love to be like him as an adult.
How or where do you find inspiration?
Traveling and nature have always been my favorite source of inspiration.
What is your favorite part of your job?
When women that I admire wear something that I created.
What would your dream project be?
Living from the land, farm to table and community, all together.
What do you do to take care of yourself?
I like to breathe, cook, read, dress for myself. Selfcare has become a huge part of my daily life since becoming a mother, the little acts of love for my body and mind.
What does success mean for you?
Authenticity and happiness, I believe they are deeply connected.
How do you disconnect when you need to?
A weekend road trip to the countryside in Mexico.
Favorite place and three things to do there?
Home in Texas, being with my family, long walks during the fall and making dinner.
How do you think that being a mother has changed you?
It has changed everything, my perspective of life and knowing that love has no boundaries, ever-growing and challenging.
What are your biggest challenges for you as a mother? And as a woman?
Finding balance between being a mother and being myself.
